If you weren’t able to attend the first sold-out screening, come see the second showing of this incredibly moving and inspirational film about how the Israel Ride changed two brothers’ lives.  The stars, Eyal and Ronen, and the director, Ofer, will be there to share their personal experiences.

Directed by Ofer Cohen, “Power of Bro” tells the moving story of brothers Eyal and Ronen Yaari. Without warning, tragedy hits Eyal in the form of Parkinson’s and heart disease. With their lives altered forever, the two brothers hit the road on a tandem bike as part of the Arava Institute Hazon Israel Ride, in an epic bid to transform their challenges into personal triumphs.

3,600 Miles and 10 Weeks Later, the Hazon Cross-USA Ride Arrives in DC

Click for larger viewTen weeks ago, the Hazon Cross-USA Ride left Seattle, and yesterday it ended in Washington DC, 3,600 miles later. 10 cyclists crossed the whole country and 60 others joined along the way. They raised over $120,000 in support of sustainable food systems from over 1200 donors.  (more…)

Cyclists on the Hazon Cross-USA Ride woke up earlier than usual to pay a visit to KARE 11, the NBC affiliate in the Twin Cities. They spoke with Sven Sundgaard about where they’ve been, why they’re riding, and how they’ll be spending their time in the cities.

This year’s Arava Institute Hazon Israel Ride will visit the Hula Valley Bird Sanctuary! This video takes “a look at some of the birds and mammals seen over the first Hula Valley Bird Festival week in northern Israel, with highlights as told by some of the visitors and a peak at the Artists for Nature in Israel ‘Drawing Inspiration fro the Hula Valley’ art exhibition.”

Take the Classroom on the Road with Tiyul B’Aretz

Imagine a road trip in Israel…for college credit. Tiyul B’Aretz is reinventing study abroad in Israel by giving students an educational experience that goes beyond the classroom walls.  On Tiyul B’Aretz there is no campus, no classrooms, and no dorms or dining halls.  This is learning on the road.  Students spend the semester traveling to different regions and living in various communities, gaining a more hands-on and intimate experience of Israel than they ever could on a traditional study abroad program. On Tiyul B’Aretz, we’re taking the classroom on the road, using the land and people of Israel as our educational resources and guides. (more…)

The Rocky Mountain Jewish Food Summit and Jewish Identity

Hazon intern Ian Solow-Niederman created this three-minute video about his experience with the Rocky Mountain Jewish Food Summit and how it impacted his Jewish identity.

Ian Solow-Niederman is a student at the University of Colorado-Boulder. He was born and raised in Denver, Colorado and was a member of the B’nai B’rith Youth Organization in high school. BBYO sparked a love of being part of Jewish organizations and in college he has continued that by joining Alpha Epsilon Pi Jewish Fraternity and being active with the CU Hillel. He is a double major in Communication and Religious Studies and hopes to work with non-profit organizations after graduation.
