Avigail Hurvitz-Prinz
As a professional Jewish foodie, Avigail counts her blessings every day. As a program associate on Hazon's food programs she thinks about defining kosher (fit to eat) food as informed by the works of Michael Pollan and other Rebbes. When she isn't baking cakes she's often blogging about the cakes she's baked on jcarrot.org. Besides helping to coordinate Hazon's CSA Program, Tuv Ha'Aretz, and Hazon's Food Conference she also spends a lot of time making sure the office has enough sweets to eat.
Avigail grew up in San Diego County, and ventured to the great Northwest to attend Reed College where she graduated with a degree in Religion. She spent a summer in Amherst, MA, to intern at the National Yiddish Book Center and then returned to Reed to work as Senior Assistant Dean of Admission before joining the Hazon staff in January 2008.
