Tuv Ha'Aretz: Hazon's Community - Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program enables the Jewish community to support local, sustainable agriculture. (see Why CSA? for more info) It is the first Jewish CSA Project in North America, where individuals commit to purchase an entire season of produce from an organic family farm. The farmer is supported by a stable base of customers. Members receive delicious, organic produce that they pick up once a week from their synagogue or JCC for the entire growing season!

In 2004, Hazon piloted Tuv Ha'Aretz in New York partnering with Congregation Ansche Chesed, and Garden of Eve Farm. In 2005, we expanded Tuv Ha'Aretz to a second site in New Jersey, partnering with JCC MetroWest, Temple B'nai Abraham, and Starbrite Farm. In summer of 2006, Tuv Ha'Aretz came to Jewish communities in Washington DC, Houston Texas, and Long Island.
Would you like to start a Tuv Ha'Aretz CSA in your community? Contact Leah@hazon.org for more information.
The name Tuv Ha'Aretz suggests a double meaning: Tuv Ha'Aretz means both "good for the land" and "good from the land."
