Sinai Temple’s involvement in the Hazon CSA program began with our Rabbi’s vision for the synagogue. Rabbi David Wolpe wrote in regards to this, “Kashrut is the Jewish expression of our stewardship of the earth. This is our synagogue’s attempt to fulfill the ethical underpinning of the mitzvot.” Rabbi Ehud Sela, also at Sinai Temple, found our farmer at a farmer’s market – Phil McGrath was the only one there who had heard of a CSA – and the project was then taken up by Sinai’s Green Committee.
