The Israel Ride is an incredible opportunity for you to experience the beauty of Israel from the saddle of a bike. The Israel Ride will take you across Israel with riding routes of 200 – 300 miles over five days. All routes are fully supported with mechanics, lead riders, and rest stops.

The Israel Ride experience also includes a day off for Shabbat, and educational opportunities to learn from our tour guides and environmental experts.

About the Ride

Participants pay a registration fee and commit to a minimum fundraising level. Participants cover their own transportation expenses to fly to Israel and transfer costs. The Israel Ride covers all costs in Israel including hotels, food, and ride support.

Participants in the Israel Ride mostly are from across the United States as well as England, Canada, Israel, and Australia. Riders We have riders of all ages (including those celebrating a Bar or Bat Mitzvah), religious backgrounds, and cycling abilities.

Riding Experience

The week-long ride includes orientation, five cycling days, a day off for Shabbat, and a travel day at the end. Each cycling day of the Israel Ride offers new cycling opportunities and challenges, although the basic flow of each day is the same.

The Israel Ride is a fully supported ride with multiple riding groups, on road support, and rest stops throughout. We offer a series of touring and educational options throughout the Ride including trips before and after, en-route education, and a full cycling/touring hybrid itinerary.

The Israel Ride attracts a wide cross-section of Jewish observance, and indeed some riders who are not Jewish. You do not need to be an experienced or athletic rider to do the Ride. The Israel Ride community is diverse, with riders of all skill levels from across the United States, with some riders from Canada, Australia, England, and Israel. Rider ages span from 12 to 70.

Ride Logistics

We understand that the Israel Ride can be a complicated endeavor, and provide a checklist and tools to prepare you for an adventure filled vacation. You are responsible for booking your own flight to Israel. We offer extra tours before and after the Ride for those who wish to extend their trip to Israel, and also welcome guests to join us at various points on the Ride.

Fundraising

The Israel Ride is a fundraising events benefiting two organizations – The Arava Institute and Hazon. We offer incentives those who raise above their minimum. We provide a series of fundraising tools to all participants, including a personalized donor website and information about both organizations.

For riders from outside of the US we have developed partnerships in Canada, Australia, and Israel to facilitate fundraising.
