World Donors and Riders
While our offices for the Israel Ride are from the United States, we welcome participants from around the world and have established partnerships in select countries for tax receipts.
In the United States, the organization Friends of the Arava Institute is a recognized charity that can provide the appropriate documentation for US donations. Presently, we do not have offices in other countries; however we have developed partnerships with local organizations in Australia, Canada, and Israel. These organizations will process and acknowledge your donors. Due our relationships with these partner organizations you will have to help FAI keep track of your donations. There are a few extra steps involved for non-US Riders, but we will do everything we can to make the process smooth for Riders and donors.
Australia
The Arava Institute is a recognized project of JNF Australia and donations are therefore paid to JNF Environment Gift Fund and earmarked for The Arava Project Israel Ride. We have a project link on the JNF Australia website for online donations using all credit cards: https://www34.telligence.net.au/jnf/Donation.cfm?id=9
For Australian donors who would like to contribute by check, please fill out the off-line donation form and return it to our dedicated Israel Ride volunteer David Freeman (David Freeman, Level 13, 440 Collins Street, Melbourne, Vic 3000 | Tel: +613 9614 8448 | Email: freemanlawyer@bigpond.com). David processes the forms and then they are sent to JNF’s office in Melbourne for receipt issuing. David can also help all Aussie Riders with their reporting.
Canada
While in the past we have had partnerships with Canadian non-profit organization to facilitate tax-deductible donations, unfortunately in 2011 we do not have such an arrangement. We hope to re-establish a partnership in the future.
Israel
Donations in shekels can be made by check only, written to The Arava Institute for Environmental Studies. Checks should be marked that they are for the Israel Ride, with the name of the Rider and be mailed to: Arava Institute, Kibbutz Ketura, D.N. Hevel Eilot 88840. The Arava Institute will deposit and acknowledge the donation. They will alert the Friends of Arava (in the US) of the corresponding dollar amount based on the exchange rate of the day of deposit, who will credit the donor and update the donor’s account online.
